I fuck my knee, and a miracle cure.

Mar Del Plata is a juxtaposition of almost-paradise and public not-giving-a-fuckness. They have plenty of beaches that would be wonderful if not for the layers of rubbish almost completely covering the sand. They have streets that would be pleasant to walk down if it wasn't for the holes and shittily kept public spaces. And they have waterfront buildings that look like they were designed well and then completely misinterpreted by the public. The MDQ waterfront could be really nice, but years of use as an open air urinal and grafitti practice ground have turned it into a largely deserted concrete disappointment.

That said, it's perfect for parkour, so that's what I did.

Erry Day

You can't participate to the fullest every single day with long haul travelling. I have days where I sit on my laptop in the hostel all day modelling, coding or just unashamedly killing time. This isn't a short trip for me, I have to pace myself slowly. But no matter how much I tell myself that, I still put myself on a guilt trip for using the laptop.

We're off to Mar Del Plata

The day immediately following Quilmes Rock I hopped on a bus to Mar Del Plata, with no idea how long I planned to stay and an indeterminate amount of time available. I prefer going without plans, fuck a deadline.

Quilmes... rock?

One of the very many nights I was down at the bar in Ostinatto and talking to Seba, I was informed of a local band playing some funk/rock - friends of Seba. They were playing in a bar in Palermo (Machina, I believe) and Seba was heading there after work. Entonces, not one to throw an op for live funk to the dogs, fui.

Tigre

A few days into Ostinatto had me meeting all kinds of people. First of all, and most importantly, Jesus.

Will weed for work

So as soon as I got to Ostinatto my objective became 'get some weed'. My Australian friend had bestowed upon me a few tips on where to go and how to obtain and with his words still fresh in my mind, I headed out para ganar.

Ostinatto

I don't like to sit in one place for too long. I think it's a step towards complacency and homesickness. I am going to be away for as long as I can handle and I need to be vigilant for things that effect my ability to do so. Even writing this blog makes me somewhat melancholic and I don't like that.

So for this reason I like to move hostels every week or so, even if I plan on staying in the same city. Meeting people and forming crews is nice, it sucks to see them all go on and still be stuck in the same place, waiting for someone else to make friends with. Seems too much like allowing others to direct your state of mind and I don't like that. So it was convenient that most of the Back in BA 'crew' left at roughly the same time, including me.
